Role description

We are recruiting a Terminal Manager to take operational charge of an LPG import and storage facility. This is a highly responsible role in a safety-critical, regulated environment - overseeing everything from ship and road tanker operations and planned maintenance programmes through to contractor management, emergency planning and regulatory compliance. The right candidate will be a strong operational leader with the judgement and discipline that complex industrial facilities demand. Responsibilities • Take overall responsibility for safe LPG importation operations via ship and road tanker, and for the secure storage of bulk product at the terminal. • Plan and coordinate all scheduled maintenance, statutory inspections and testing activities - ensuring records are maintained accurately within the asset management system. • Enforce safe working practices and procedures consistently across all terminal operations. • Lead and coordinate capital and operational projects running within the terminal. • Track budget performance, key operational metrics and compliance status - escalating issues as required. • Ensure road tanker loading, discharge and parking operations are conducted safely and in line with procedure. • Manage contractors on-site - including permit to work authorisation, risk assessment review, method statement approval and change management. • Oversee the training, competency assessment and ongoing development of all terminal staff and contractors across all critical operational areas. • Ensure the terminal’s Safety Management System remains current and fully operational - including MAPP, COMAH Safety Case, Safety Statement, On-site Emergency Plan, Risk Assessments and all Operating Procedures and Works Instructions. • Champion health and safety culture across the site and wider business. • Take on additional responsibilities in line with business needs. What We Need We are looking for someone with a minimum of two years in an operational or maintenance management role within an industrial, utility or regulated setting. You will be a confident, hands-on leader - organised, safety-obsessed and comfortable managing both routine operations and complex projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as is solid computer literacy and experience with asset or facilities management systems. An engineering degree would strengthen your application. Above all, you will be someone who takes the responsibility of a safety-critical environment seriously and leads others to do the same.
